ExtraMenu Order your menu

Smart menu guide

From your first sign-in to running the menu day to day. Each part also stands on its own.

1. Signing in

After your order, we create your restaurant's account and send you a username and password. There is no public sign-up, so nobody but you can reach your restaurant's menu.

  1. Go to http://localhost:8082.
  2. Enter your username and password and choose "Sign in".
  3. First thing: set a new password under "Change password".
You stay signed in on that device for up to 30 days. If you have no account, ask whoever set up your menu.

2. Dashboard

The first page of the panel summarises your menu:

  • At a glance: number of sections, dishes, dishes sold out today and dishes off the menu.
  • Status: "Open now" or "Closed now", based on your opening hours.
  • Logo and cover photo: uploaded right here.
  • View the guest menu: a link to your public menu, where every change shows immediately.

3. Restaurant profile

Under "Restaurant profile", fill in what guests see at the top of the menu:

  • Name and a short description
  • Cuisines (Persian, Italian, café…, separated by commas)
  • Price range: budget, moderate, upscale or fine dining
  • Address, city, phone, email and website
  • Assistant starter questions: up to three questions suggested when a guest opens the assistant.
If "Visible to guests" is off, your menu will not open for guests. Your menu address (such as /naranj) also never changes after creation, because printed QR codes point at it.

4. Opening hours

For each day, use "Add opening period" to create one or more periods (for example 12–16 and 19–23). A day without periods shows as "Closed".

  • Periods that run past midnight (20:00–02:00, say) are supported.
  • Open/closed is worked out in the restaurant's local time.
  • The assistant knows these hours too.

5. Menu sections

Sections are the chapters of your menu: "Starters", "Mains", "Drinks" and so on.

  1. Under "Menu sections", add a section with a name and description.
  2. If a section is only served at certain times, set its serving window and serving days, such as breakfast from 8 to 12.
  3. Use the move up/down buttons to reorder sections.
Sections are never deleted, only hidden with "Hide from menu". Their dishes stay untouched and return with "Show on menu".

6. Adding dishes

Under "Dishes", create a new dish. The more complete it is, the better the filters and the assistant work.

  • Name, description and section
  • Price, and a discounted price if needed; the old price is shown struck through.
  • Spice level: not spicy, mild, medium, hot, very hot
  • Dietary tags: vegetarian, vegan, halal, kosher, gluten-free, dairy-free, nut-free, keto, low-carb
  • Allergens: the 14 standard ones, such as gluten, milk, eggs, peanuts, sesame…
  • Ingredients: the assistant and search look through these.
  • Calories and preparation time
  • Popular and Chef's pick to make a dish stand out
Enter allergens completely and accurately. Guests rely on this information.

7. Sold out and off the menu

Two separate switches for two different situations:

  • Sold out: the dish ran out today. It appears faded with a "Sold out" badge and the assistant won't suggest it. Mark it available again tomorrow.
  • Off the menu: the dish isn't being served for now (it's seasonal, say) and is not shown at all. "Return to menu" brings it back.

8. Bulk import

To add many dishes, choose a section under "Bulk import" and write one dish per line:

name | price | description | allergens | dietary tags

Example:

Koobideh kebab | 485000 | Two skewers with rice | | halal

  • Write allergens and tags by their English codes, comma-separated, such as milk, gluten or vegan, gluten-free.
  • Up to 100 lines at a time.
  • Every line is checked and previewed before anything is saved.
  • Either all of them are added or none are, so the menu is never half-imported.

9. Photos

Upload the logo and cover from the dashboard, and each dish photo from that dish's edit window.

  • Formats: JPEG, PNG or WebP, up to 5 MB.
  • A wide (landscape) cover, a square logo and square dish photos look best.
  • Daylight and a slightly high angle make food look its best.

10. Table QR codes

Your menu has a permanent address, such as menu.extramenu.ir/naranj. Turn it into a QR code with any QR generator and put it on tables, the window and business cards.

Because the address never changes, you only print the QR code once. Add a short line next to it: "Scan the menu and ask our smart assistant".

11. Assistant and reports

Under "Assistant" you see what your guests ask, how much it is used and what it costs:

  • Conversations and questions over any period (30 days by default)
  • Most frequent questions, a great source for improving dish descriptions
  • The full transcript of each conversation
If guests keep asking about a dish, its description isn't telling them enough. Fill in its ingredients.

12. Assistant credit

Each answer the assistant gives your guests is paid from your assistant credit. This page shows your balance, the price per 1,000 tokens and an estimate of tokens left.

  1. Choose "Top up" and pick a preset amount or enter your own.
  2. "Pay online" takes you to the payment gateway and brings you back to the panel afterwards.
  3. Every top-up and charge is recorded under "History" with its tracking number.
When credit runs out the assistant switches off for guests, but the menu keeps working. Top up and it comes back.

13. The guest experience

To brief your staff, this is what a guest sees:

  1. They scan the QR code and the menu opens in their phone's browser.
  2. They search for a dish or ingredient and filter by allergens, dietary tags, price and spice.
  3. They tap a dish to see its full details.
  4. They ask a question with the "Ask the assistant" button.
  5. They order from the waiter as usual.

14. Account security

  • Passwords need at least 10 characters, with upper and lower case letters, a digit and a symbol.
  • After a password change you stay signed in on that device and every other device is signed out.
  • Don't share your password. If you forget it, contact us to have it reset.
